This art piece was erected to commemorate Austin Stack, a notable Kerry republican and politician. The art piece features a portrait of Stack in a suit and tie, symbolizing his dedication to public service and to the republican cause. The mural intends to capture Stack’s essence and contributions to both local and Irish history, particularly during the tumultuous early 20th century. The piece not only honours Austin Stack, but also serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering historical figures who fought for the justice and equality we get to enjoy today.
