Backstory is a night of dancing tunes and original visuals hosted by Donal Dineen. Documenting the many shades of soul music and the myriad mysterious ways of the boogie will be the golden thread that runs throughout the night. All manner of rhythms and every kind of beat will be on the menu. It’s an exploration of the history of the groove with an ear to the present and an eye on the future. All of dance music’s rich tapestry will be on display. The idea is to tell a story using tunes from all decades of dance music from 1930’s West Africa to the present day. Ideally the story should end somewhere in 2025.

While Donal will be looking after the dancing room with his box of 45’s, Stephen Horan (Selective Sounds) and Rob Condon (Drumpound) will be on the one’s and two’s in the bar should one seek refreshments.
